Additional Driver
All additional drivers must meet all rental requirements. All additional drivers must appear at the rental counter, present their driver's license, and sign the rental agreement. Additional drivers can be added to the contract at any time during the rental but only at the pick-up location. An additional driver fee of 12.00 EUR per day applies. The maximum fee is 144.00 EUR.
After Hours Service
After Hours Pickup is available. Additional service fees will apply.
Age Requirements
The minimum age requirement to rent all vehicles is 25. The maximum age to rent is 75. Renters between the age of 21 and 24 may rent the categories Mini and Economy. A young driver fee of 18.00 EUR per day applies to all renters between the age of 21 and 24. Young drivers must have held their driving license for a minimum of 1 year.
Cross Border Policy
It is not permitted to drive a vehicle outside the islands of Malta and/or Gozo.
Delivery and Collection
Delivery an Collection are available on request. Please contact the rental branch for further information. Additional charges for delivery and collection are applicable.
Refueling Service
Unless prepaid fuel was purchased, the vehicle must be returned with the same fuel level as provided at the start of the rental, as indicated in the rental agreement. If the vehicle is returned with less fuel, the cost for the missing fuel will be charged at 2.00 EUR per litre, along with an administration fee of 35 EUR (VAT included).
Forms of Payment
All major credit cards, issued by either American Express, Mastercard and Visa are accepted. All cards presented must be in the renter's name. A security deposit plus the estimated cost of the rental will be taken at the time of rental. The deposit is 600 EUR for all vehicle categories.
Roadside Protection
Roadside Assistance Protection (RAP) is an optional 24-hour emergency service including provision of a replacement vehicle in case of lost vehicle key, shipping of the key, on-site assistance in case of tire breakdowns, towing service, forced unlocking of the vehicle if the keys are locked inside, jump-start assistance. The renter pays a daily fee that covers all roadside assistance services. Before purchasing RAP, it is advised to determine if a personal coverage is adequate to cover these charges. If RAP is declined, the renter will be required to pay any applicable charges and seek compensation from the carrier of personal coverage. RAP is not insurance.
Renter Requirements
All drivers must present a full valid driving license. If the driving license is written in a language and characters different to those of the country of rental, an International Driving Permit is also required. Renters are advised to check whether local authorities require foreign drivers to present an International Driving Permit to avoid the risk of potential fines. Renters with licenses from countries who are not part of the International Driving Permit Agreement should carry a certified translation.
All renters must provide a valid identity card or passport.
Non-EU licenses are valid for up to 6 months based on the date of the stamp in the renter’s passport. After six months, an EU issued driving license is legally required.
Please note that we reserve the right to request additional ID or conduct further identification checks if needed which may include an identity check with an external organisation.
Visitors to Malta must also provide proof of return travel and accommodation information while in Malta.
The driving license must have been issued by authorized authorities at least 12 months before the date of the commencement of the rental.

The rental counter is located in the Car Rental Centre.
Third Party Liability
Third Party Liability insurance is mandatory by law and included with all rental rates. Liability insurance covers per accident, personal injury or death and property damage up to a certain figure established by our insurers. Third Party insurance cover amounts are adjusted each year from the 1st of January. The liability insurance does not cover injury to the driver of the rental vehicle but third parties, passengers, are covered. It also does not cover the renter’s property or cover damages to a connected vehicle on the rental like a caravan or trailer.
Tire and Windshield Protection
Tires and Windshield Protection (TWP) is an optional coverage which reduces the renters financial responsibility to zero in the event of damage to the tires and/or windshield of the vehicle, subject to the terms and conditions of your rental agreement and applicable laws. Before purchasing TWP it is advised to determine, if a personal coverage is adequate to cover damage to Tires and/or Windshield. If TWP is declined, the renter will be required to pay these charges and seek compensation through their carrier of personal coverage. Tires and Windshield Protection is not included within the Excess Protection addtional coverage. TWP is not insurance.
